MAYHEM Rescheduling Australian Tour

September 8, 2008

Norwegian black metallers MAYHEM have issued the following update:

"As many of you know, the previous Australian tour [which was scheduled to take place late May 2008] was cancelled. MAYHEM was extremely disappointed and outraged for the cancellations. This was COMPLETELY out of the band's control. MAYHEM wants to let you know that the fans Down Under have not been forgotten. An Australian tour is in the works right now. MAYHEM will not release official dates until the tour is SOLID to avoid any further disappointments or screw-ups! Just wanted to let everyone know that the band knows Australia demands MAYHEM and they will answer the call! Look for dates in the VERY near future..."

As previously reported, MAYHEM is planning a U.S. tour in early 2009. The trek will reportedly consist of 21 shows and will kick off in the early spring. The exact cities and dates will be announced soon.

MAYHEM was honored in the "Metal" category at the 36th annual Spellemann awards (the Norwegian equivalent to the Grammy Awards) for their latest release, "Ordo Ad Chao". The largest and oldest Norwegian music awards show was held on February 2, 2008 at the Spektrum in Oslo, Norway and was broadcast live on the Norwegian channel TV2.

"Ordo Ad Chao" entered the Norwegian album chart at position No. 12, the band's highest position ever.
